I was expecting more history of the D’ni and was excited to see how or if the characters would rebuild the great city. From people who have played it, I know that MYST is more than a game, it is an experience—an immersion into another world, where things are strange and wonderful. So, I knew nothing about this book coming in. The paper is of excellent quality and is embossed in sections, which adds a tinge of making it feel artificially handmade. However, the game had a lot of unknown elements in its story, and I’m sad to report that “The Book of Atrus” doesn’t fill in all the gaps. Atrus, however, has more questions than Gehn is willing to answer.
